Pilgrim

well I am a pilgrim
a vagabond and a restless soul by trade
well I am looking for salvation
looking for some holy place to meet you

And I am a pilgrim
Doing my best to make it through
And I am a little lost without you
I need your love to make it through

well I wake up in the night and feel the heartbreak
and I find myself wandering in the dark
and I am drifting through this darkness
with nothing to show for all these sleepless nights

And I am a pilgrim ...

Doing my best to make it through
And I am a little lost without you
I need your love to get me through

And I am a pilgrim
Doing my best to find the truth
And I am a little lost without you
I need your love to get me through

Velvet Kiss

I've searched in valleys, I've searched in cities wide
Looking for something new to fill this ache I have inside
I've journeyed far, I've journeyed long
There's nothing left to find, there's nothing new under the sun

Won't you take my breath away
With your velvet kiss today
I can feel you near won't you take my breath away
Won't you stay close by my side
Through the storms and the rising tide
I can feel you near won't you take my breath away

My heart is aching from the dust in my veins
My eyes are weary from this world I see
And my feet are tired from years of running
Looking for the river that will lead me back into your sea

Won't you take my breath away
With your velvet kiss today
I can feel you near won't you take my breath away
Won't you stay close by my side
Through the storms and the rising tide
I can feel you near won't you take my breath away

POETRY:

Indian Sunset

sunset in the indian sky
palm trees and coconuts
sun, rock, and sand
waves grip the coastline
in futile love
as the sea slips away
like I...
longing to stay

I have dreamt

i have slept on a bed of sticks
i have slept on a floor of mud
i have lived under the brightest of stars
i have left what was rightfully mine

i dreamt of kenyan freight trains howling
i dreamt of maasai warriors painted
i dreamt of this, my lost childhood
i dream...and wondered if any of it happened

Collide

softdrinks and nutmeg
memories collide
differences
and things
taken for granted

butterflies on napkins
memories come alive
flying in
and out
of this reality

kites flying on cotton strings
i like that idea
of blue skies
and nothing
is ever wrong

sunflower seeds and poetry
memories take to the sky
forgetting tomorrow
for now
and for always
